App Developer

We are looking for a strong app developer with an unstoppable passion for live music and an entrepreneurial spirit.

"What's Gigit!?"

Gigit is your concert and festival app, available for iOS and Android. With Gigit you build your personal concert history by saving your concert memories and sharing them with your friends. So basically: a social platform for music lovers.

Just like you use Untappd for craft beer, IMDb for movies, Runkeeper for running, and Vivino for wine, you use Gigit for live music.

The app was launched in 2020. No, the timing was not very fortunate indeed (something with a virus). Nevertheless, we have built a loyal community and warm relationships with several partners in the music industry. The future looks bright!

"Ok, sounds good… But who are you?"

We are a Dutch start-up, located in Horst and Weert (Limburg). The core team consists of four music freaks (Maikel, Geert, Gijs and Jannis), supported by the design gurus from Studio Moan (Utrecht), the development wizards from Ketjapp (Weert) and our main investor Chatim BV.

We are hyper-ambitious.

Our goal? A global platform where everything and everybody in the field of live music comes together.

"Very nice! And what am I going to do?”

Initially, you will support our development partner (Ketjapp) in developing the Gigit app. Eventually, you will take over and be the lead app developer for Gigit.

The first phase consists of a pre-defined scope (the 3.0 version). In the phases after that, you will determine the direction of the app together with us and our fans, and then develop it.

You will work for the coolest start-up in the Netherlands and you will have a direct impact on the app and the future developments. There is a lot of room for your own input and ideas. With your creative and entrepreneurial spirit, you will be an important member of our team from day one. And obviously, working for Gigit goes hand in hand with attending concerts and festivals (no shit Sherlock) and a lot of fun!

The aforementioned first phase will be on a freelance basis. After that, we will define together how we will continue our collaboration. If that is too vague or uncertain for you, we can also make agreements about this in advance.

'I’m in! But what boxes do I need to tick?'

These are the skills and qualities we are looking for:

The drive and knowledge to build a high-quality app
At least part-time availability (on a freelance basis)
Several years of experience in developing native and cross-platform apps
Experience with one or more of our programming languages and tools
- Our stack: Xamarin Forms, Firebase auth and messaging, Google Cloud storage, Gigit API (Lumen with Mariadb and deployment via Jenkins)
Affinity with live music is a big plus
Good communication skills, both for internal and external collaboration
Coming into our (Dutch) office is great fun, but working remotely from anywhere in the world is perfectly fine
