For many artists, tour riders are a sign that they’ve finally made it. And it's no secret that the world's greatest artists like to pamper themselves, after all, they work hard for it.

However, artists sometimes emphasize their star status with the most extravagant and often bizarre demands on their tour riders. In that case, 'pampering yourself' is an understatement to say the least.

From toilet paper with a certain shade of pink (Mariah Carey) to square watermelons (Axl Rose). Child's play for some superstars in this list!

5. Madonna

Madonna seems to take the nickname 'QUEEN of pop' very seriously. She demands at least 200 rooms for her and her entourage and thus claims an entire hotel! In addition, she wants lilies with roses and white flowers with stems of exactly 15 centimetres in her dressing room. And oh yes, the toilet seats must not only be clean, but brand new! Anything else, my lady?

4. Eminem

We often see artists bringing their pets backstage to a show. A dog or hamster, no problem! In some cases, a monkey or other exotic animal is requested. Strange, but okay!

However, a Northern Irish promoter in 2011 must have been surprised when Eminem asked them to build a pond containing Koi, which are extremely expensive Japanese fish.

3. Mötley Crüe

You probably won't even be surprised to find Mötley Crüe in this list. Even with their rider they live up to the wild rock and roll lifestyle!

Their demands?

A sub machine gun
A twelve-foot-long boa constrictor
A schedule for local Alcoholics' Anonymous meetings

Of course very useful if you... I mean if you want... never mind...

2. Iggy Pop/The Stooges

When Iggy & co perform for a show, various supplies must also be arranged. Extremely important, so pay attention and read along with us!

Seven Dwarfs (may be slightly bigger, as long as they have the right attitude)
A pack of cigarettes from a brand he doesn't like (so he can throw it away when he enters)
A Bob Hope impersonator
Two bottles of wine (preferably something we've all heard of, but still can't pronounce)

1. Slayer

And then the rider who dwarfs all riders by the infamous trash metal band, Slayer. Perhaps the line is being crossed here between rock and roll and weird and grim.., because in 2011 they demanded a promoter to arrange the following:

100 white goats ready for slaughter by a Halal butcher
‘Blood-proof’ umbrellas, in case the Halal butcher is sloppy
A human skull filled with candy

And oh yeah, “those markers that smell like cool stuff”.
