Looking back at some of our favourite Dutch gigs from last weekend

There we go! The Dutch ban on events, which seemed to last forever, has finally been lifted. Whohoo! And despite the fact that there are still some restrictions here and there, we are over the moon as you may have guessed!

One small step for a man, one giant leap for our music industry! ~ Someone at Gigit

From Sting, Genesis and The Kooks, to UB40, Dave and Dua Lipa, we can't wait to see them all back in their natural habitat in the coming weeks.

But which artists were the first to warm up the Dutch stages again last weekend? We've sorted it all out for you. Join us for a tour of our favourite gigs from last weekend!

3. Puma Blue

When? 20/2/2022
Where? Melkweg, Amsterdam

Puma Blue, a project by London-based Jacob Allen who seems to have created a completely new sound with his sultry jazz-like songs. We think it could just be the perfect sound for a live setting and according to the reviews from both fans and critics we are not the only ones who think so.

Due to the high demand, the gig has already been moved to the larger OZ venue, allowing the maximum number of people (according to the Covid measures) to experience Puma Blue's unique sound!

Were you there? Then you will certainly be able to confirm everything above!

2. Tinlicker

When? 19/2/2022
Where? TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht

Oh how good it felt again! To see people return to the dance floor!

A packed dance floor which, as expected, sold out in no time. Even for this 'super last minute album release party', as described by TivoliVredenburg. But what do you expect? People have been waiting for a party like this for months!

And who else but Tinlicker from Utrecht, known for the mega hit 'Because You Move Me' with Helsloot, is the right person to lead an evening of happiness and euphoria. From their well-known hits, to the new album 'In Another Lifetime, which was released the day before on Anjunadeep, everything could be ticked off during this top night in Pandora!

Helsnoot, who by the way could also be found that evening between the analog LED screen and the DJ boot.

1. Pip Blom

When? 18/2/2022
Where? VERA, Groningen

Friday February 18, 2022 in Vera Groningen, where storm Eunice seemed to be a bigger problem than Covid. Crazy to hear actually, a bigger problem than Covid...

Anyway, Pip Blom's performance at VERA was not affected by it. The young talent has been working on her musical career since she was sixteen and, despite perhaps the most Dutch name you can think of, she seems to be becoming increasingly well known abroad. In 2019 she even performed 3 times at the world famous Glastonbury Festival. A dream that is captured in the 30 minute documentary 'Road to Glastonbury', in which the band is followed for 1.5 years.

But now in VERA, in Groningen, where the indie quartet kicks off the Dutch Club Tour with a great performance. Flawless and super fun if you ask us and everyone who was there!

Curious about all the dates of the tour? Thank us later!

22/02 Amsterdam - Tolhuistuin
25/02 Utrecht - The Helling
26/02 Hengelo - Metropolis
04/03 Rotterdam - Rotown
05/03 Maastricht - Music Foundry
07/03 Nijmegen - Sleeping Beauty
