Our 5 favourite gigs of The Great Escape
Last week Team Gigit traveled to Brighton for The Great Escape. THE festival for new music! Showcasing over 400 up and coming artists from all over the world across 35 walk-able venues. All in all it was a great weekend with lots of sun, sea, good vibes, amazing people and delicious gyros ;). Were you there?
Let us know what your favorite gig was!
Or werenβt you there? Then you unfortunately had to miss out on our favourite gigs from last week! But don't worry, we've made a small recap for you guys!
5. CVC
Venues: Brighthelm & Latest Music Bar
These Welsh feel-good hippies take you back to the 70s. Why? Well, they reminded us of acts like Crosby, Stills and Nash & Young. A big compliment according to Team Gigit.
Are you not yet familiar with the 6-piece musical collective? Then we strongly advise you to get acquainted with their music!
4. The Shakes
Venue: The Hope and Ruin
There are many bands called 'The Shakes', as it turns out. But with a live performance like this Liverpool-London act it won't take long until everybody will know who these electrifying retro-rockers are!
3. Yard Act
Venues: Komedia & Chalk
Yard Act, the talk of the town. The long queues to get in were therefore no surprise. But hell yeah they lived up to the expectations! A great energetic live act, that will definitely do well on festivals this summer.
2. Fitzroy Holt
Venue: The Hope and Ruin
With only one song on Spotify, a polished slow tune, it was hard to estimate what to expect from Fitzroy Holt. But whatever we expected, this was definitely not it!
A raw soulful show with an incredible voice. We can't wait for his first studio EP or album to be released which will hopefully do more justice to the great live act he is.
1. Wu-Lu
Venue: Chalk
What just happened?! Was it hip-hop, grunge, grime or metal? Or was it a bit of everything? During a great performance by the Englishman Wu-Lu went all over the place. An explosion of energy to say the least!
